Company History
A Family Tradition for over 30 Years
Thurlby Motors is a privately owned, family-run dealer group based in the heart of Lincolnshire. With Customer Service as our bedrock, we have grown from a single site to three thriving businesses offering full facilities including Vauxhall New and Used Car Sales, Servicing, Parts Sales, Accessories, Accident Repair Centre and Vehicle Rental plus a Ford Service Centre in Louth.
The company was acquired by the current owner in 1981, at a time when Vauxhall Motors were breaking new ground in vehicle manufacturing with the introduction of front-wheel drive cars using overhead-cam engines such as the Nova, Astra and the then New Cavalier.
Business Development
In 1996 a satellite outlet was built in the market town of Louth, which now accommodates both the full Vauxhall facilities plus our Ford Service Centre.
The business continued to grow and in 2002 the business acquired the Palmer and Bell premises in Butterwick allowing us to represent Vauxhall in and around the Boston area. Considerable investment in premises and people has seen the facility go from strength to strength and we are proud to be offering the very best new and used car display and ultra modern service operations for miles around.
The original site in Alford was certainly not forgotten during this period with a massive investment in a 100 car warehouse in 2004 providing our customers with an exceptional purchase experience at any time of year and in all weathers.

The company have consistently been market leaders, regularly being recognised as the number one dealership in the area.
Selling approximately 2,700 vehicles and carrying out over 3,900 services per year has been achieved through continued investment in people and premises to ensure that we continue to provide an exceptional service the first time you contact us and every time thereafter.
Training educates our team in how to care for customers, but caring for customers is not in a text book – its in our culture.
Thurlby Motors Into The Future
Thurlby Motors have always embraced innovation – we were one of the first motor dealers in the UK to have an internet presence and we have continued to explore how to provide new and exciting customer experiences at every point in the dealerships.
We have also continued to embrace the local communities with a large presence at local and county shows and associations with local companies and workgroups.
Whilst tough times are upon us we are still planning further expansion and look forward to the challenges ahead safe in the knowledge that having a loyal customer base and exceptional team members will be the solid foundation for future growth.
